Mikayla brings the kind of wingwoman energy every wedding venue owner wishes they had on speed dial. She’s the first to jump into the group chat with a “Got it!”, partly because she’s up before the sun, but mostly because she’s a dedicated team player. Never missing a moment to jump in and help! A straight-shooter in the very best way, she's honest, direct, and refreshingly clear—building trust with venue partners through transparency and real collaboration. When she's not being a rockstar for our clients, you'll find her recharging by the water, devouring reality TV, or passionately performing every word of Hamilton. We didn't just get a teammate when Mikayla joined HCTG, we got a confetti cannon of energy, honesty, and heart!

Insider Info

Pronouns: she / her / hers

What’s your go-to productivity hack or routine? Waking up early and getting outside. It helps if you have a cute dog who acts as your accountability coach, giving you a we’re doing this” stare until you put your walking shoes on.

What’s a book you always recommend to others? I always recommend banned books. The more people try to silence a story, the more it’s probably worth hearing. I love Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. I also love The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. It’s a beautifully gut-wrenching World War II story that has stuck with me for years.

Childhood Career Choice: Honestly, I wanted to do everything. Broadway sensation, talk show host, mob wife, dolphin trainer, teacher, podcaster, professional grocery shopper. I was ready to conquer the world.

What's your guilty pleasure? Ice cream. I could leave an all-you-can-eat buffet completely stuffed and still make room for a scoop (or three). My dad always joked that, There’s always room for ice cream because it just slithers between the cracks!” He was so right.

If your personality were a cocktail (or mocktail), what would be in it? Mocktail Moscow Mule with a splash of cranberry: Ginger beer for the spice — I’ve got a little kick to me. Cranberry juice for a tart edge — sharp, honest, and maybe a tiny bit dramatic. And a squeeze of lime to keep things fresh and fun.

What did you do before working at Here Comes The Guide? I was a high school English teacher, and I truly loved that role. I feel so fortunate to have learned so much from my students along the way. I’m always rooting for them. To any of my former students who see this, remember: be kind, drink water, go to bed early, and no dating until you’re 25

Marital/domestic status: Married to my best friend and proud mother to my angel sweetie pie golden retriever son, Sawyer.

What brings you peace? Being near water. ANIMALS. Iced coffee. Good music. A weekend getaway. A stamp on my passport.

What do you love most about weddings? I’m a total sap. All the intimate, emotional moments get me. The teary-eyed grandparents? Come on! The aisle song starts playing? I’m crying.
